Do not share your socials. Do not invite people to chat on other apps. Do not show too much skin if you post. Be culturally sensitive. Do not talk about drugs of any kind (marijuana = opium). Be a decent, respectful human being. You can like, comment, and post.
Honestly, I use rn like I would any other social media and have had no issue... I'm not a creator.. I like, comment & save.
I'm mindful that Chinese social media is more censored then western, so I'm mindful of what I comment, politics, religion, LGBT (although I've followed an out creator on there, and no issues for the creator with their content.. I'm just mindful their ai, and reporting standards probably are tied to specific word choices, so be mindful like on tiktok to phrase things in a way that wouldn't be flagged...this goes for any topics that a social media platform might flag for)
I signed up with my u.s. phone number. Had to be able to receive a text for verification code, but it was a non issue.
The #1 tip is to have citizen id card connected to your account. Number 2 would be to have chinese phone number.
Is rednote just similar to TikTok? I mean I don't understand how it works. I just upload there and do nothing.
I used it for 4 years (almost 5) and never had a problem. I like, save, share posts and talk with my friends like any social media (im interacting mostly with chinese contents). I also left comments and posted a few times, and it didn't change anything.
So it's been more than a year since I have been on this app but tell you what they just ban people for no reason most of the time. Especially if you do not have a Chinese phone number or basically a foreigner. My advise is not to post something that's controversial or can pick fights. Don't use abusive language or engage with the people who do so.

Hello, everyone. I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but if it isn’t, I will delete the post. Well, in 2024, I created an account on RedNote and linked it to my phone number. I later switched devices and didn’t reinstall the app until late 2025. I couldn’t remember my password, so I created a new account. Now, I would like to link my phone number to this new account. However, when I enter the verification code I receive, the app states that the number is already linked to another account and asks me to type a specific phrase: "I confirm that you no longer need to log in to this account to change the binding." I’ve tried typing it exactly as shown, but it’s never accepted. I’m not sure what exactly it wants me to enter, as I’ve typed the phrase precisely, yet it never works. If anyone could help me, I would be very grateful. P.S.: English is not my first language, and Mandarin is not my second language either (I am still a beginner in learning it). In the image, I was deleting the phrase to try again. However, the message that appears there in dark text is the same one that shows up when I enter the requested phrase.

I purchased an item for the first time on rednote. I received an email asking me to pay the consolidation fee for shipping when it arrived at the warehouse. The issue is the app doesn't display anything on the 'To consolidate' tab, it's on the 'To receive/use' Anyone experienced this? I have no idea what to do because there appears to be no real support, just AI agents.
