How do you guys find trending sounds, edits and content ideas?

Hey guys, just curious how you all keep up with trends on TikTok and Instagram?

I'm talking trending sounds, cool transitions, editing styles, viral formats, UGC ideas etc.

Do you use any specific websites, tools or accounts to find this stuff? Or is it literally just scrolling through TikTok and Reels until you find something?

Trying to find a better way to spot trends early rather than when everyone's already doing them lol.

fresh burner account with zero follows helps a lot tbh. fyp has nothing to go off so it just feeds you new stuff before it blows up.

save sounds under like 5k uses even if you wont use em yet. by the time they hit 50k you already posted.

swipe folder, one for formats one for transitions. boring but it works.

I dig through the sound library on tiktok and instagram a few times a week, sort by new and just listen for anything that catches my ear. That plus following a handful of editors who break down transitions and effects, they'll post tutorials within a day or two of something blowing up. Twitter is surprisingly decent for catching early waves too, if you follow the right creative accounts they'll repost stuff before it hits the main feeds. The algorithm is gonna push what's already popular, so you gotta go hunting in the less polished corners to find the raw ideas people are messing with

Look for the same format appearing across unrelated small accounts. That can be an earlier signal than waiting for one massive viral post.

I use a tool to find new ideas based on trending google searches called TrendLeap

For instagram audio, just go on the reels tab and scroll till you find a reel with a trending audio that fits what you need it for. Should take less than 5 minutes

disclaimer i own this product

sociable ai has an instagram trends page on our site where you can get a good idea of current viral formats. it's free, you don't need to enter email or anything.

there are several other 'trend trackers' available. i find that usually we find trends that they don't, but they also find trends we don't. i suspect this is because we pull trends based on data and pure virality while they have someone scrolling and deciding what to post.

I set a weekly reminder to check the top video in my niche's "trending" tab on TikTok and Reels, not just my feed, and I write down what sound and format shows up across multiple creators, not just one viral post that could be a fluke. If I see the same audio or transition three plus times in a week across unrelated accounts, that's real signal, not noise. Then I don't copy it straight, I adapt it to my niche and add my own angle so it doesn't feel like a repost. Takes maybe ten minutes a week and catches stuff before it's oversaturated.

I usually spend about 20 minutes doomscrolling to find these things. Try it out, it might be helpful for you too...

Hot take: posting every day is overrated for small accounts

I think posting every day is overrated for small accounts. Three posts a week that each have a real hook seem to beat seven rushed ones, and you don't burn out by week three. Daily posting mostly works for people who already have a system or a team. For everyone else it trains you to post filler. Change my mind: has daily posting actually worked for you, and on which platform?

Is it true that Threads lost 80% of their users?

I'm courious to give it a shot, cuz i like social media like threads. But on the internet I saw that lots of users just stopped to use that application. Are you still using it? My goal is to fully integrate with my ig profile, since I want to establish a dialogue with people to understand their needs and to brainstorm some ideas, since I'd like to build a brand starting from there. What kind of differences are compared to X? Thanks!

nobody needs to follow you anymore, and thats why your reels get views and no follows

everyone is asking why the views are fine and the follows are dead, and i think the answer is boring and structural, not the algorithm punishing anyone. think about why you used to follow an account. you followed so you would see their stuff again. that was the entire deal. now the feed serves you whatever it wants either way, and if that person makes another good video you will probably get shown it regardless. so following costs the viewer a slightly messier feed and gives them almost nothing back. the trade stopped making sense. which means "follow for more" is asking people to pay for something they already get for free. no wonder it quietly stopped working. the follows that still happen look different to me. people follow when they want to find you again on purpose. not to receive you, to locate you. thats a completely different job and it needs a different reason. a series where they want the next part. a name for the thing you do. something on the profile that signals there is more of this and its organised, not just one good video and then vibes. heres the part im not certain about and would like people to push back on. if this is right, two accounts making equally good videos should convert views into follows at wildly different rates depending on whether theres a recognisable recurring thing on the profile, and hook quality should barely matter for the follow specifically. it obviously still matters for the view. so if you run a series or a named format, does your follow rate look different from your one off posts? id like to know if this holds up or if im talking nonsense.

Is there an app or website that builds a social media strategy and generates content based on your answers to a few questions?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a tool (app or website) where you can input information about your business, niche, or goals by answering a series of questions, and it automatically creates a full social media strategy and generates ready-to-use content based on those answers. Ideally, something that helps with planning and content creation without needing to prompt everything manually from scratch. Does anyone know of a tool like this? Recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

What’s the Best Practice for Using Hashtags on Social Media in 2026? Does It Depend on the Platform?

I want to understand the current best practices for using hashtags across different social media platforms. * How many hashtags should we use per post on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Threads, TikTok, and YouTube? * Does the ideal number of hashtags vary by platform and content type (Reels, carousels, videos, or text posts)? * Are hashtags still effective for increasing reach, discoverability, and engagement in 2026? * Is it better to use a few highly relevant hashtags or a larger mix of popular and niche hashtags? * What common hashtag mistakes should marketers avoid?

What information is missing from shop accounts you follow?

I'd check opening hours and what's available before judging a shop's feed redesign. What do you usually end up asking them because you couldn't find it on the account?
