liked someone's repost and it showed as a chat message. why?

i liked someone's reposts before but it never showed up in the chat as "you liked a post shared by x". any idea why it happened? like why do i need a notification on my own action and what does it show on the persons notification? TIA

If I scroll up and back down, it shows up again but the clock doesn't restart. I've had this happen to me several times over the last month. But this is the first time that it's been a clock.
