Can individuals make and sponsor political content?

So, I'm rich now, I've always complained about rich people influencing politics..

Can I do that? :D

Can I just, make videos talking about politics and post them as "paid for by me" and sponsor them to get huge views? Seems sketch but with all these Russian bots maybe it is just that easy?

lol careful what you wish for, that's exactly how it starts. you can absolutely fund your own stuff and slap "paid for by" on it, the FEC mostly cares about disclosure not stopping you from spending. just don't be surprised when you wake up in 5 years and realize you've become the villain

So you’ve just got some inheritance and want to find the fastest way to use it all up.

Why not find a charity that you believe is a good cause and put some of that cash their way ?

Just been hit by Meta One link limit!

I run social media for a charity here in the UK, and we regularly post content linking to parts of our website, event links for other organisations etc from our Facebook page. As of today (it didn't show up yesterday) we can only post 2 links a month without paying a fortune?! How is everyone getting round this or are we all needing to just fork out?

Do you ever feel like you're creating content for the algorithm instead of actual people?

I've been managing social media for a while now and now it feels like every platform wants something completely different. One week it's short videos then it's carousels then someone says posting less gets better reach every time I think I've figured something out it feels like the rules change again. The other night I was scrolling on my phone looking at accounts in my niche and I noticed the posts I actually stopped to read weren't the ones that looked the most polished they were the ones that felt like someone was sharing a real opinion or experience instead of trying to game the algorithm. It made me wonder if I've been spending too much time chasing what I think the platform wants instead of making content that people would care about even if there wasn't an algorithm involved. Has anyone else started shifting back toward that mindset or is it just me?

Does adding a caption, hashtags, and location actually help the Reels algorithm push your content?

Hey everyone, I've been noticing a lot of Reels going viral with completely blank descriptions, no hashtags, and no location tag at all. I wanted to ask if taking the time to add a description, hashtags, and a location actually helps the algorithm promote your Reels to more people, or if it makes no real difference compared to just posting without them. What has your experience been with this?

How do you use Snapchat to drive sales for a women’s fashion brand in the GCC?

I manage social media for a women’s fashion brand based in Oman, and I keep hearing that Snapchat is a huge sales driver for women’s fashion across the GCC. I want to explore it as a serious sales channel, not just another platform to post content on. But I’m not entirely sure how to approach it strategically. Should I focus on organic content, Snapchat Ads, influencer collaborations, or a combination of all three? How do you target the right audience, build trust, and actually convert views into purchases? I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully used Snapchat to sell fashion in Oman or other GCC markets. What strategies have worked for you, and what would you recommend for a brand just getting started?

I waited 19 days to chase a late retainer payment because I did not want to seem pushy

My best client went quiet on a $1,400 retainer invoice and I just let it sit. It was due on the 1st. By the 5th I had drafted a follow up email twice and deleted it both times. I told myself they were busy, that chasing would make me look desperate, that one late payment from a good client was not worth an awkward conversation. So I kept posting their content like nothing was wrong and checked my bank balance a lot. On day 19 I finally sent the shortest version I could write. Something like: just flagging invoice 104 is still open on my end, let me know if you need anything from me to process it. They replied in under an hour. The invoice had gone to their old ops inbox when their office manager left. Nobody had seen it. It was paid the next morning. That one stung a bit. The delay was never a money problem or a respect problem. It was an inbox problem, and my worrying about seeming pushy turned a two day admin fix into almost three weeks of me quietly stressing about rent money. So I built the follow up into the boring part of the job instead of leaving it to courage. Now every retainer goes out with a note the day before it is due. If the due date passes, I follow up the next morning, still friendly, just a flag. Around day 3 I ask what their accounts person needs from me, a PO number, a different format, whatever, because that question has fixed it more than once. Day 7 gets firmer and mentions the late fee that is already in the contract. And the contract now says work pauses at 14 days overdue, which I have never actually had to use since writing it down. The part I did not expect: clients do not seem to mind any of this. If anything the organized ones respect it. The reminder the day before reads like a service, not a chase, because half the time they were about to forget. How long do you wait before you chase a late one? And do you put the pause clause in writing or just handle it case by case?
