When you see a video a mutual reposted, is it always recent?

Sometimes, if I’m online, I will get a notification right as they post it but a lot of times I get it in my FYP within one to two days time of them posting it. If it’s somebody you recently added, it may be overly showing you things that they reposted because they’re a new addition to the algorithm and it’s trying to get you to like or scroll or repost those things to better shape yours.
