Réflexion sur l'importance des réseaux sociaux aujourd'hui

Bonjour,

J'avais envie de partager une réflexion avec d'autres sur l'importance des réseaux sociaux aujourd'hui.

Je m'intéresse à ce sujet puisque que je viens du milieu des médias et je me questionne sur l'importance que ça peut avoir dans la vie des gens aujourd'hui.

La construction de son identité:

Il est facile de partager ses projets, ses intérêts et sa personnalité. Ce que nous sommes, ce que nous montrons et ce que les autres perçoivent peuvent aussi être très différents dépendamment de comment on choisit de se présenter. Et si vous ne souhaitez pas être visible, que devenez-vous aux yeux des autres?

Le renforcement social:

Il est possible de faire des liens avec des personnes que nous n'aurions pas rencontrées autrement. Et aussi de renforcer les liens dans notre cercle d'amis.

Le mélange vie professionnelle et privée :

Il peut devenir difficile de savoir jusqu'où montrer notre vie, surtout quand tous les abonnés peuvent voir notre contenu. Ex: lorsque vous avez un poste à hautes responsabilités, il peut devenir difficile de savoir comment se montrer.

La pression d'être visible:

Choisir de ne pas publier peut donner l'impression d'être moins présent socialement alors que ce n'est pas nécessairement le cas. Penser que l'on peut manquer des opportunités de rencontres dans notre vie dû à un manque de présence en ligne est un fait qui peut aussi donner envie d'être plus visible.

Tout cela m'amène à repenser l'importance que nous accordons à l'image, l'image de nous-mêmes, de notre vie et de l'importance d'avoir des choses à montrer. Pour certains, ça peut aussi devenir stressant d'être constamment entouré d'un monde si exposé.

La question n’est peut-être pas seulement de savoir s’il faut être présent ou absent, mais plutôt de réfléchir à la place que nous souhaitons leur accorder dans la construction de notre vie sociale et de notre identité.

nobody needs to follow you anymore, and thats why your reels get views and no follows

everyone is asking why the views are fine and the follows are dead, and i think the answer is boring and structural, not the algorithm punishing anyone. think about why you used to follow an account. you followed so you would see their stuff again. that was the entire deal. now the feed serves you whatever it wants either way, and if that person makes another good video you will probably get shown it regardless. so following costs the viewer a slightly messier feed and gives them almost nothing back. the trade stopped making sense. which means "follow for more" is asking people to pay for something they already get for free. no wonder it quietly stopped working. the follows that still happen look different to me. people follow when they want to find you again on purpose. not to receive you, to locate you. thats a completely different job and it needs a different reason. a series where they want the next part. a name for the thing you do. something on the profile that signals there is more of this and its organised, not just one good video and then vibes. heres the part im not certain about and would like people to push back on. if this is right, two accounts making equally good videos should convert views into follows at wildly different rates depending on whether theres a recognisable recurring thing on the profile, and hook quality should barely matter for the follow specifically. it obviously still matters for the view. so if you run a series or a named format, does your follow rate look different from your one off posts? id like to know if this holds up or if im talking nonsense.

Facebook is offering creators from tiktok and youtube real money to post there and the reaction has been rough

meta launched this in march, paying creators with existing followings on tiktok, instagram or youtube up to a few thousand dollars a month just to also post video on facebook. one reddit thread about it had a comment that stuck with me, someone said it plainly, looks like facebook is trying hard to pull creators away from tiktok and youtube, which is basically the whole strategy stated out loud the response from creators who actually tried it wasnt great. one person said they made ten cents off 275 thousand views. another with over 300 thousand followers said most posts were only getting 20 to 30 reactions total. the money is there upfront but the distribution once youre in doesnt match the size of the audience youre bringing over theres history here too that a few people brought up, facebook ran a gaming creator program back in 2018 that worked fine at first and then quietly got worse once payments dropped. people arent just being cautious for no reason, theyve seen this exact move from this exact platform before still, free money for cross posting something you already made is hard to say no to even with all that in mind, the actual math is going to be different depending on account size if facebook offered you this tomorrow, would the reach numbers above be enough to make you say no

Client wanting to expand work scope how much should I charge UK

I am a newly freelance social media manager, one of my clients that I’ve had for a few months has spoken to me about wanting to explore more platforms such as YouTube and Pinterest. I currently post for him on Instagram and Tiktok, 5 videos a week, 1 day a week of in person filming. I’m charging him £600 but I am about to have a meeting asking for a pay increase as I’m doing alot more hours. How much would you add on for posting on YouTube shorts and Pinterest? I’m thinking I will just post content I’ve created throughout the week as I feel it’s friendly for those platforms. So not necessarily needing to reedit, But let me Know your thoughts please !!!!!

Why all the platform of social media are US based.

I feel like there is a lot of US content regardless of which platform from online.. it feels like we are just watching Americans...all the other countries are doing so much but none of it is show cased I dont know how it is relatable but this is really weird...90% of the the social I cosume is USA made content i dont understand why or how is it because the social media are mainly from US or just they are not universal...got to think about this and qusstion..let me know if you have felt the same... P.S. if this is illuminati please make me famous and money...
