Should I reactivate my professional IG account? (just to promote my creative work/book)

I'm an architect, run a lifestyle/work blog and have a professional IG where I sometimes post about work life or repost other videos that I've been featured in. Used to have ~4k followers, but got harassed/had unfounded negative comments posted about me a few months back which really spooked me (it escalated to a police report). I deactivated my professional IG after that. The deactivation hasn't impacted my work since I'm not reliant on IG for getting clients.

But I'm also involved in content creation (I also work as a podcast host) and am writing a book (already have a publisher), so I'm wondering if there's a need to maintain a public social media presence for the sake of promoting creative content? Or will I still somehow be able to have an audience and enough people to buy my book without social media?

My mental health and anxiety levels are so much better ever since I've deactivated it, but I'm just worried about losing out on an audience for my creative work by not being on IG. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

if deactivating instagram made your anxiety and mental health noticeably better, dont reactivate it just because you feel like you're supposed to. you already have a publisher, a blog, and podcast work, so you have other ways to build an audience and promote the book. if you ever do return, you could treat it as a limited promotional channel with strict boundaries rather than making it a big part of your life

if your mental health improved that much and ig wasn't bringing you work before, don't reactivate it just to make instagram happy, your publisher can market a book without making you reopen the

TikTok freezes views at 500 despite very high like ratio

Hi everyone, I'm a wlw couple content creator and I'm very puzzled about my recent engagement. I've been posting high quality videos like always, and most of them are getting a staggering 90 likes in the first 300 views, literally within 5 minutes. Then, just out of nowhere, the views suddenly slow down and it stops getting pushed despite immediate and very active engagement. For context, I first started posting in February, and since my very first video (which hit 1M views within a week) literally every single thing I posted would always hit at least 10k and on average 40k views within a day or two, and regularly over 100k as well. Recently, the account died (every new video stuck at 0 views, impossible to fix) so I started a new account. I'm very confused, because I post the exact same things: around 7 second long wlw jokes/relatable content. Basically every video I post goes on the same trajectory that on my old account would always lead to popularity - over 60 likes in 300 views/couple minutes - but then randomly gets frozen in the middle of doing very well. I have checked my analytics and they are exactly the same on both accounts, which should imply that my new videos should do exactly as well as my old videos. But for some mysterious untraceable reason they're getting blocked. How do I resolve this? Does anyone else have experience with this? One more thing is these prompts saying stuff like "Your content's fire-just needs more viewers. • Spend £9 get 26377 views" pop up under all of my new videos. Is it possible that they're freezing my views as some sort of strategy to get me to pay them? Any insights are appreciated. Thanks!

Just post more: went from 200 to over 1k new followers per month

If you're just starting out, you're probably **overthinking what to post**. I sure did. I used to spend like an hour deciding if an idea was "good enough." Was the hook strong? Was the topic interesting? That only helps you to procrastinate posting the content. The thing that **actually changed my growth** was just starting to post a lot more. For months I was stuck around 200 new followers a month. Now I'm regularly over 1k. Quality per video matters less than you think. I used to believe every video had to be polished, well edited. Now I'll post things that are clearly just okay. Decent idea, fine editing, shot on my phone in one take. Some of those outperform the ones I spent hours on, and I genuinely can't predict which is which. The videos that do 2-5k views are not failures. I used to ignore anything that didn't half go viral. But those "mid" ones pile up. A few every week, each pulling a handful of new follows, and that ends up being most of my monthly growth. The bigger videos are a bonus, not the plan. You get better from reps, not from planning. My hooks, pacing, editing, all of it improved just from doing it way more often. You can't think your way into being good at this. My process now is honestly kind of boring, which I think is the point. I keep a running list of ideas so I'm never staring at a blank screen on filming day. I've been using SagaAI to bounce ideas around and turn a vague thought into an actual angle I can film, which killed most of the overthinking for me. I batch record the videos sometimes, do so basic editing and that's it. Even the scritps aren't exceptional in a sense of structure and storytelling, I just try to provide as much value as I can in each video. That's the whole thing. Volume is the key to growth, seriously just check your top creators to see their frequency. If you're stuck, my honest advice is to stop fixing the idea in your head and go post 10 mediocre things this week. You'll be glad you started the reps today

Ditched daily content for Sunday batching and finally stayed consistent

Every productivity video makes consistency sound like: "just show up every day no matter what." Yeah… that completly fell apart for me. By the time I finish work, survive bedtime chaos with my kid, and finaly sit down at my desk, my brain is basicaly cooked. Trying to force myself to generate content every single night just made me hate the process. So now I do something way less glamorous: Sunday nights, 10PM → Midnight. Thats my entire "studio." I batch everything there now. Concepts, visuals, rough edits, failed experiments, all of it. Weirdly its the first time ive stayed consistant without burning out. One thing that unexpectedly helped was stoping the obsession with finding the "perfect AI model." I used to bounce between a million tabs trying to compare outputs and it honestly became its own form of procrastination. Now my workflow is GPT Image 2 when I need to lock in a look or character, motion generation when physics actualy matter, then PixVerse for the final shots. Main reason I stick with it is I can test workflows from one place instead of jugling subscriptions at midnight. I care way more about finishing content than perfectionism. If something gets me 90% there and saves time im going with that. Curious how other people are handling this longterm. Are you "make content every day" people or more batch-and-survive?

Should I create content on only one platform or is two platforms fine?

I'm looking to create content for my web design and development business. I want to go into video content, so I identified that YouTube & Instagram could be great channels (TikTok is banned in my country). Now, some people advise focusing on one platform before moving to the next. While some say to post on multiple platforms to cater to different audiences. Now I understand that every platform works differently and demands different stuff. Making a reel on Instagram will have a different process than making a YouTube video. But even if I have that understanding, should I go for one platform, or both? If one, then how to identify which one I should start on? Edit - typo

WHY THE FUCKING FUCKITY FUCK YOUTUBE AND SOCIAL MEDIAS DON'T HAS ALL OF THESE FUCKING SHITS

[YouTube removed dislikes, and I FUCKING HATE THAT SHIT BECAUSE I CAN'T TELL IS A YOUTUBE IS BEING HATED BY PEOPLE OR NOT.](https://youtu.be/BXXI_MnaA0Y?si=PED4f3A2pdmh7_4i) And I don't fucking get why most social media platforms DON'T EVEN FUCKING HAVE DISLIKE COUNTERS TO LET YOU KNOW DO YOU FELL OFF OR NOT. What you're fucking seeing in front of your eye is Battlefield 4's Battlelog. The use of Battlelog is took up what weapon you frequently use and what's your K/D ratio. You can even look at other player's stats about those shits. Yes, I know there's YT studio but the REAL REAL motherfucking problem is that you can only see your own and you can't look at dislike counters on your own videos. Heck, why the fuck YT don't allow us to look at dislike counters in the fucking comment section. The fucking "Battlelog" I mean is that you can look up what's your favorite YouTuber, what's your most watched video of all time, how many hours you used YouTube in your life, what's your like and dislike ratio on your videos, your views and like ratio on your videos, your like and subscriber ratio on your videos, what's the best of those shits, subscriber retention (how many of your subscribers who keep watching your videos each time you upload them and their highest streak, so how it will break is when people don't watch the video you uploaded before after you uploaded a video) and what video does that shit and you can also look others as well, just like Battlefield 4's Battlelog. Comments?!? No view counter, no dislike counter, no like and dislike ratio, no views and like ratio. No average like and dislike ratio of all of your comments of all time and how many times you commented in your lifetime. FUCKING SHAME. I JUST FUCKING HATE WHY THE FUCK SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS DON'T HAVE THIS FUCKING BATTLELOG SHIT TO LET ME KNOW IS SOMEONE OR ME FELL OFF OR NOT Video game stores have star ratings and reviews of each games. Why the fuck can't we have star ratings and reviews on each account oocial medias to let us know how has this bitch fell off hard or not?! Are most of their shit worth watching or not? ALL OF THESE FUCKING SHITS ARE FUCKING IMPORTANT IF YOU'RE TAKING PART OF YOUTUBE AND INTERNET DRAMAS [Heck, I got hated by people on social medias and without those fucking stats and Battlelog shit I CAN'T FUCKING KNOW AM I ACTUALLY FELL OFF OR NOT. AM I ACTUALLY UGLY? DO PEOPLE REALLY HATE ME?!?! FUCKING TELL ME. FUCKING TELL ME HOW MANY PEOPLE LOVE MY SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS. FUCKING GIVE ME THE GODDAMN FUCKING LIKE AND DISLIKE COUNTER TO FUCKING LET ME KNOW HOW MANY HATERS I HAVE?!?!??? FUCKING TELL ME. WITHOUT THESE FUCKING BATTLELOG SHITS ON ALL SOCIAL MEDIAS MORE PEOPLE INCLUDING ME WILL LEAVE SOCIAL MEDIAS AND DELETE THEIR GODDAMN FUCKING FUCKITY ACCOUNT](https://youtu.be/BXXI_MnaA0Y?si=y58CkehBa6G8lgt0) [IT'S FUCKING 2026, WHY THE FUCK EVERYTHING HAS TO BE FUCKING COMPLICATED AS FUCK RATHER THAN EASY AND SIMPLE AS FUCK?!?!?! FUCK FUCK FUCK](https://youtu.be/BXXI_MnaA0Y?si=PED4f3A2pdmh7_4i)
