This is an idol group doing a joke using a children's song. It is not "the most popular song in Japan" any more than itsy bitsy spider is the most popular song in the US. That is why they are using child voices and everyone knows the very simple callback. You have absolutely no idea what is happening here but for some reason you feel you are knowledgeable enough to judge these women and the audience.
