Do these contents creators make profits through their accounts?

you know on ig and tiktok there are a lot of contents creators who just yap about random stuff. mostly funny random thoughts about lives or talking about hot takes in the world.

like those 20K followers, do they also monetize through their account? I am just curious and want to start doing it just for fun, first.

I know from a friend they get paid around 350€ per video with a focus on restaurants, hotels, beauty products etc. They also receive free accomodations, free meals (for up to 4 people) and free products on top of the fee for each video. They aren't able yet to monetize viewership and ad revenue from the platforms as it's not enabled in their country but they're easily making a living from the job despite that.

I have 1,000 followers and have made a couple hundred on a smaller brand deal. I produced one good video for them, and they used it on their accounts as well and kept hiring me. Free stuff is also a massive perk. I work a regular 9-5 now, so I cant dedicate much time to content creation now, and the deals have slowed.

One thing to mention is I post health content mixed with some random stuff. Nothing crazy just workout routines and meals, the brand was a pickleball paddle company, so it fit within my niche.

lol most of them are just hoping to land a brand deal that's barely enough to cover their rent

Random yap accounts don’t. I do TikTok full time but I put in effort on my videos and they’re well edited and I get additional rewards and pretty high RPM. Been doing it full time since April.

People that just open their camera and yap about whatever’s on their mind don’t make any money.

People that me with niches and high quality editing do.

they do get paid with brand deals, or they get barter collabs, sometimes they can also a land a job, i am not sure about the platform paying for 20k followers on instagram .

Some do, but at 20K it’s usually small money. Platform payouts (TikTok’s creator program, Instagram bonuses when available) tend to pay very little for “random thoughts” content, since views don’t translate into much cash.

Most of the money at that size comes from small brand deals, affiliate links, or using the audience for something else, like a product, service, or getting noticed for jobs.

Starting for fun is honestly the best way. The people who last long enough to monetize are usually the ones who enjoy posting anyway.

Just been hit by Meta One link limit!

I run social media for a charity here in the UK, and we regularly post content linking to parts of our website, event links for other organisations etc from our Facebook page. As of today (it didn't show up yesterday) we can only post 2 links a month without paying a fortune?! How is everyone getting round this or are we all needing to just fork out?

Do you ever feel like you're creating content for the algorithm instead of actual people?

I've been managing social media for a while now and now it feels like every platform wants something completely different. One week it's short videos then it's carousels then someone says posting less gets better reach every time I think I've figured something out it feels like the rules change again. The other night I was scrolling on my phone looking at accounts in my niche and I noticed the posts I actually stopped to read weren't the ones that looked the most polished they were the ones that felt like someone was sharing a real opinion or experience instead of trying to game the algorithm. It made me wonder if I've been spending too much time chasing what I think the platform wants instead of making content that people would care about even if there wasn't an algorithm involved. Has anyone else started shifting back toward that mindset or is it just me?

Managing multiple social platforms feels like managing several separate jobs

for people handling social media across multiple platforms, how do you keep everything manageable? between creating content, adapting creatives for different platforms, scheduling posts, checking analytics, and running paid campaigns, it seems like there's always another dashboard to check. do you use separate tools for each task, an all-in-one platform, or a mix of tools and spreadsheets? i'm curious which part of the workflow takes the most effort for you. is it creating content, keeping everything organised, understanding performance, or something else? would be interested to hear what your actual setup looks like, especially if you're doing this without a large team.

Is anyone else noticing that a lot of music has disappeared from Instagram’s music library?

I’ve noticed that a lot of songs I used to find are either missing or impossible to find through search. Sometimes, searching the artist first doesn’t work, but typing the song title first makes it show up. Like I’ll search for a specific song by its exact title and artist, sometimes music that I remember being available before, and it just won’t show up anymore. Instead, the search results are full of random tracks I’ve never heard of. My recommendations have also gotten weird lately, showing me random music that has nothing to do with what I normally listen to. Is this a bug, a licensing issue, or did Instagram change something?
