nobody needs to follow you anymore, and thats why your reels get views and no follows

everyone is asking why the views are fine and the follows are dead, and i think the answer is boring and structural, not the algorithm punishing anyone. think about why you used to follow an account. you followed so you would see their stuff again. that was the entire deal. now the feed serves you whatever it wants either way, and if that person makes another good video you will probably get shown it regardless. so following costs the viewer a slightly messier feed and gives them almost nothing back. the trade stopped making sense. which means "follow for more" is asking people to pay for something they already get for free. no wonder it quietly stopped working. the follows that still happen look different to me. people follow when they want to find you again on purpose. not to receive you, to locate you. thats a completely different job and it needs a different reason. a series where they want the next part. a name for the thing you do. something on the profile that signals there is more of this and its organised, not just one good video and then vibes. heres the part im not certain about and would like people to push back on. if this is right, two accounts making equally good videos should convert views into follows at wildly different rates depending on whether theres a recognisable recurring thing on the profile, and hook quality should barely matter for the follow specifically. it obviously still matters for the view. so if you run a series or a named format, does your follow rate look different from your one off posts? id like to know if this holds up or if im talking nonsense.

Facebook is offering creators from tiktok and youtube real money to post there and the reaction has been rough

meta launched this in march, paying creators with existing followings on tiktok, instagram or youtube up to a few thousand dollars a month just to also post video on facebook. one reddit thread about it had a comment that stuck with me, someone said it plainly, looks like facebook is trying hard to pull creators away from tiktok and youtube, which is basically the whole strategy stated out loud the response from creators who actually tried it wasnt great. one person said they made ten cents off 275 thousand views. another with over 300 thousand followers said most posts were only getting 20 to 30 reactions total. the money is there upfront but the distribution once youre in doesnt match the size of the audience youre bringing over theres history here too that a few people brought up, facebook ran a gaming creator program back in 2018 that worked fine at first and then quietly got worse once payments dropped. people arent just being cautious for no reason, theyve seen this exact move from this exact platform before still, free money for cross posting something you already made is hard to say no to even with all that in mind, the actual math is going to be different depending on account size if facebook offered you this tomorrow, would the reach numbers above be enough to make you say no

Can this "free for use" song be used in a brand-creator-collaboration with a big brand?

Can this "free for use" song be used in a brand-creator-collaboration with a big brand? Can this "free for use" song be used in a brand-creator-collaboration with a big brand? It's a song from the Pixabay library claiming to be "free for use under the Pixabay \[Content License\](https://pixabay.com/service/license-summary/)". I must be 100% sure because in this collaboration it's said that "according to the agreement, the Creator is responsible for ensuring that all necessary usage rights for any content provided (including music) are properly cleared and that the content can be used within the agreed scope. As the track you used is from Pixabay, could you please double-check that you’re confident the respective licence covers the agreed usage? \*\*In case of a copyright infringement related to the selected music, the responsibility would sit with the Creator\*\*." The Content License says following: \# What are you allowed to do with Content? Subject to the Prohibited Uses (see below), the Content License allows users to: |\*\*✓\*\*|Use Content for free| |:-|:-| |\*\*✓\*\*|Use Content without having to attribute the author (although giving credit is always appreciated by our community!)| |\*\*✓\*\*|Modify or adapt Content into new works| \# What are you not allowed to do with Content? We refer to these as Prohibited Uses which include: |\*\*✕\*\*|You cannot sell or distribute Content (either in digital or physical form) on a Standalone basis. Standalone means where no creative effort has been applied to the Content and it remains in substantially the same form as it exists on our website.| |:-|:-| |\*\*✕\*\*|If Content contains any recognisable trademarks, logos or brands, you cannot use that Content for commercial purposes in relation to goods and services. I deleted my dad’s (soon to be, for the wrong reasons) viral LinkedIn post due to a safety oversight. Was I correct?

So my dad tasked me with coming up with posts for his personal LinkedIn account to grow his personal brand and like sort of get more work and all that. So the goal was to sort of paint him as an authority figure in his space right? Now the only problem is I basically know nothing about the industry… So I made the first post, I even sent him the text and image I would use alongside it before posting it to get a green light…making sure I’m not saying some bs. Now the text was perfect, but apparently the image I chose to go along with it had some major safety concerns which neither me, my dad or Claude thought about. I’m really gonna sound crazy but I don’t get how Claude allowed me to do this. Like I asked it is this a good picture to go along with the post. And it said it’s the best one I’ve suggested so far???? Like looking back at it the safety concern is so obvious so I don’t get how AI wouldn’t see it like bro 😭😭 Anyways. So I post and we get some early traction but nothing crazy, then this morning (2 days later after I posted it) it started gaining crazy traction like 1k impressions per hour. And it was sitting at 22K impressions and one person left the comment calling out the safety concern. And in 2 hours it got 10 likes. Then someone replied to that and agreed. Then about 20 minutes before I deleted it another person called out the safety concern so I could see where this is heading and I decided to delete it. I was debating what to do. Should I reply to acknowledge the safety oversight and say how it’s not safe and we don’t do it again and blah blah blah or just delete it. I ended up going with delete it as even if I replied more people would still leave those comments and it probably wouldn’t look the best for future people checking out the profile. My question is whether deleting it was the right move? Tbf there was plenty of comments left before someone called out the safety concern so I guess most people aren’t worried about that…idk… **A few things I’m hoping to get advice on from the community** **Was deleting it 100% the right move?** Or should I have tried to pivot the caption to an "educational safety warning" to save the 22k viral momentum? **Is 22k impressions a massive deal on LinkedIn?** Will people actually remember this a month from now, or does the feed move too fast? **How do I workflow this moving forward?** Since I don't know the industry and my dad missed it too, what boundaries should I set so we don't accidentally post a regulatory hazard again? I feel like if I sent my post + image to another AI to evaluate it from a legal/ safety perspective it would have flagged it, idk tho. Am I ok to post again in about 3 days? Like idk will people call me out again? Should I wait like a week or two before starting to post again? My plan was 2 weekly posts but now I’m scared lmao? Should we just hire some sort of LinkedIn marketing agency or something to do this for us cuz idk? We lowkey can’t afford it tho idk im just overthinking shit now bruh 😭😭 TL:DR my dad told me to grow his personal brand. I made a post with a major safety oversight and 2 days later the post started getting 1k impressions per hour and people started calling me (my dad) out. I deleted it cuz it felt like the safest thing, was I right?

Supervisor with public personal instagram account

Hi! Is it unprofessional for supervisor to have a public personal instagram account? There is basic normal pictures of me, my husband and dog, some humor things and what podcasts/music I listen to. So it's just a basic personal account, but often I see supervisors with private accounts... So what thoughts on that?
