I deleted my dad’s (soon to be, for the wrong reasons) viral LinkedIn post due to a safety oversight. Was I correct?

So my dad tasked me with coming up with posts for his personal LinkedIn account to grow his personal brand and like sort of get more work and all that. So the goal was to sort of paint him as an authority figure in his space right? Now the only problem is I basically know nothing about the industry…

So I made the first post, I even sent him the text and image I would use alongside it before posting it to get a green light…making sure I’m not saying some bs.

Now the text was perfect, but apparently the image I chose to go along with it had some major safety concerns which neither me, my dad or Claude thought about. I’m really gonna sound crazy but I don’t get how Claude allowed me to do this. Like I asked it is this a good picture to go along with the post. And it said it’s the best one I’ve suggested so far???? Like looking back at it the safety concern is so obvious so I don’t get how AI wouldn’t see it like bro 😭😭

Anyways. So I post and we get some early traction but nothing crazy, then this morning (2 days later after I posted it) it started gaining crazy traction like 1k impressions per hour. And it was sitting at 22K impressions and one person left the comment calling out the safety concern. And in 2 hours it got 10 likes. Then someone replied to that and agreed. Then about 20 minutes before I deleted it another person called out the safety concern so I could see where this is heading and I decided to delete it.

I was debating what to do. Should I reply to acknowledge the safety oversight and say how it’s not safe and we don’t do it again and blah blah blah or just delete it. I ended up going with delete it as even if I replied more people would still leave those comments and it probably wouldn’t look the best for future people checking out the profile.

My question is whether deleting it was the right move? Tbf there was plenty of comments left before someone called out the safety concern so I guess most people aren’t worried about that…idk…

A few things I’m hoping to get advice on from the community
Was deleting it 100% the right move? Or should I have tried to pivot the caption to an "educational safety warning" to save the 22k viral momentum?

Is 22k impressions a massive deal on LinkedIn? Will people actually remember this a month from now, or does the feed move too fast?

How do I workflow this moving forward? Since I don't know the industry and my dad missed it too, what boundaries should I set so we don't accidentally post a regulatory hazard again? I feel like if I sent my post + image to another AI to evaluate it from a legal/ safety perspective it would have flagged it, idk tho.

Am I ok to post again in about 3 days? Like idk will people call me out again? Should I wait like a week or two before starting to post again? My plan was 2 weekly posts but now I’m scared lmao? Should we just hire some sort of LinkedIn marketing agency or something to do this for us cuz idk? We lowkey can’t afford it tho idk im just overthinking shit now bruh 😭😭

TL:DR my dad told me to grow his personal brand. I made a post with a major safety oversight and 2 days later the post started getting 1k impressions per hour and people started calling me (my dad) out. I deleted it cuz it felt like the safest thing, was I right?

Looks like relying on AI as though it's automatically an expert was your mistake.

Big companies run their content by legal, compliance, etc. You don't have that luxury, but you're still the ones responsible for due diligence.

What bigger companies also do, is train their AI tools on necessary internal and external documentation. LLMs are only as good as their source material.

No one will remember this; You are fine to delete.

22k views isn't low, but it isn't anywhere near viral.

Quit relying on Claude to do your work for you.

Don’t trust AI, more often that not it just tells you want you want to hear. Just delete the post, nobody will remember, and move on having learned from this

Show us the post but remove the info that identifies your dad

deleting it before LinkedIn turned it into a permanent safety exhibit

Treat AI like an intern.

It might make suggestions but there’s a real person (you, your dad) behind the ramifications.

Recently, AI made stuff up that a lawyer included in a murder trial. You can’t turn around to a judge and say “sorry, it was AI”. Everything that goes out must have your final sign off.

why was Claude involved

I don't know whether you have realized this or not, but AI tools will give you a response...if you dispute it, they'll start agreeing with everything you say.

Claude or any other conversational AI model will tell you what you want to hear. It’s not there to make decisions for you or for you to ask it for advice.

i got 4.5million views last week, high level blueprint.

i went viral. 4.5million views last week. how? or more like how tf can you or your companies or your employees do this? I've been posting content consistently for 2 years, and this is my blueprint. Your content is mainly formats, subjects, and user value. in that order. 1. Format - steal your formats from other accounts that are doing well right now. For my account, before & afters work best, followed by 4-part transformation videos. Followed by talking to the camera storytimes. \*once you find a video format that works keep using it ver and over until you literally hit 1M views or followers. If its working, keep doing it. duh.\* 2. subjects - what is your video about? pick 1 subject and every video is a slight variation of that. mine is my transformation story. ("I went into the hospital for psychosis, after that I got super depressed, then I knew I wanted to make a change, so I founded my company \[name redacted\] and focused on trying to build a life.") 3. user value - why tf would anyone watch you? they dont care about you, they care about themselves. Are you showing something they need to see? Giving unique/accurate/useful advice? Offering a valuable shift in perspective? Connecting them to resources? (My personal approach to user value is to give it all away for free. Leave it all on the floor. If I know something of value to you I will simply tell you for free and generously. If my app is good, you will use it. If my content is good, you will follow me without me needing to do any bamboozling). So there is it! Format, Subject, User Value is my high level blueprint. I can break down how i researched and decided on my specific styles for each if anyone finds that interesting. My next post on this subject will me how I read my analytics to decide what content to post/not post. Every account doing well in my niche is using the exact same format and its kind of unsettling

went digging into the top performing accounts in a niche i follow closely, expecting to see some spread, different formats, different approaches. found basically one shape repeated over and over, someone talking straight to camera, educational tone, the same three or four hook styles rotating checked across 50 plus videos and there wasnt a single one using b-roll or footage-led storytelling instead of talking head. not one. which either means talking head is just the objectively strongest format for that topic, or it means everyone copied whoever won first and nobody has actually tested anything else in years i lean toward the second explanation, because the highest performers in that same set also had engagement patterns that looked more like a comment funnel than real interest, so "winning" and "actually working for the business behind it" might not be the same thing here at all curious if this is specific to my niche or something that shows up everywhere once you look close enough

Please drop advice, I've come to accept that I'm HORRIBLY addicted to social media

I got home from work at 2:30am, I got on Instagram around 3:00am, I've been up and now it's time for me to go back to work, no sleep LITERALLY from 3:00am to 2:00pm I was scrolling and commenting on social media, the whole time I'm scrolling and scrolling, I'm telling myself "man you need to get off" "if you read a book, you will be sleep in 10 mins" but I never do. I feel it's partly to do with the content on my social media, it's not a bunch of funny, mindless videos. It's informational, hidden history, metaphysics, etc... I LEARN from them but for some reason it's almost impossible to just put the damn phone down🫠 I'm not looking for sympathy or "just delete the app". I'm looking for real steps to take, or people who have also been super addicted to social media who got out of that HOLE. It's like these past 5 months has PASSED BY due to me constantly on social media but I'm tired of it.

Client wanting to expand work scope how much should I charge UK

I am a newly freelance social media manager, one of my clients that I’ve had for a few months has spoken to me about wanting to explore more platforms such as YouTube and Pinterest. I currently post for him on Instagram and Tiktok, 5 videos a week, 1 day a week of in person filming. I’m charging him £600 but I am about to have a meeting asking for a pay increase as I’m doing alot more hours. How much would you add on for posting on YouTube shorts and Pinterest? I’m thinking I will just post content I’ve created throughout the week as I feel it’s friendly for those platforms. So not necessarily needing to reedit, But let me Know your thoughts please !!!!!
